What is the current through a 100-ohm resistor connected across 200 volts?
- A.20,000 amperes
- B.0.5 amperes
- C.2 amperes (correct answer)
- D.100 amperes
WhyA 100-ohm resistor connected across 200 volts carries a current of 2 amperes. Ohm's law gives current as voltage divided by resistance: 200 volts divided by 100 ohms works out to 2 amperes, answer C. A, B, and D don't match that division.
