What formula is used to calculate current in a circuit?
- A.I = E x R
- B.I = E / R (correct answer)
- C.I = E2 x R
- D.I = E2 / R
WhyCurrent in a circuit is calculated with the formula I = E / R. Ohm's law gives current as voltage divided by resistance, I = E / R, answer B. A multiplies instead of dividing, and C and D both incorrectly square the voltage term, a step that belongs to the power formula P = E-squared / R, not to Ohm's law for current.
