What formula is used to calculate resistance in a circuit?
- A.R = E x I
- B.R = E / I (correct answer)
- C.R = E + I
- D.R = E - I
WhyResistance in a circuit is calculated with the formula R = E / I. Ohm's law gives resistance as voltage divided by current, R = E / I, answer B. A multiplies instead of dividing, and C and D both add or subtract voltage and current, operations that don't correspond to any valid relationship between these quantities.
