General exam question G2A11
Subelement G2, OPERATING PROCEDURES· Group G2A
Generally, who should respond to a station in the contiguous 48 states calling “CQ DX”?
- A.Any caller is welcome to respond
- B.Only stations in Germany
- C.Any stations outside the lower 48 states (correct answer)
- D.Only contest stations
WhyOnly stations outside the contiguous 48 states should respond to a station in the lower 48 calling CQ DX. "CQ DX" called from the contiguous 48 states is a request for contacts specifically from outside that area, so only stations elsewhere should answer, answer C. It's not restricted to Germany specifically, it's not limited to contest stations, and it's precisely not an invitation for any caller, that's what a plain "CQ" without the DX qualifier would be.
