What is the elevation angle of peak response in the antenna radiation pattern shown in Figure E9-2?
- A.45 degrees
- B.75 degrees
- C.7.5 degrees (correct answer)
- D.25 degrees
WhyThe antenna radiation pattern shown in Figure E9-2 has its elevation angle of peak response at about 7.5 degrees. In Figure E9-2, the main, strongest lobe peaks at a shallow elevation angle of about 7.5 degrees above the horizon, a low takeoff angle typical of a horizontally polarized antenna at a modest height over real ground, answer C. The much steeper 45 and 75 degree angles, and the intermediate 25 degree figure, don't match where this pattern's dominant lobe actually peaks.
