What does “positive logic” mean in reference to logic devices?
- A.The logic devices have high noise immunity
- B.High voltage represents a 1, low voltage a 0 (correct answer)
- C.The logic circuit is in the “true” condition
- D.1s and 0s are defined as different positive voltage levels
Why"Positive logic" means a high voltage represents a 1 and a low voltage represents a 0. Positive logic is the convention where a high voltage level represents a logic 1 and a low voltage level represents a logic 0, the more common of the two logic conventions, answer B. It isn't a statement about noise immunity, doesn't mean the circuit is necessarily in a "true" state, and doesn't define 1s and 0s as two different positive voltage levels, negative logic simply reverses which voltage level means which bit.
