What logical operation does an OR gate perform?
- A.It produces a 1 at its output if any input is 1 (correct answer)
- B.It produces a 0 at its output if all inputs are 1
- C.It produces a 0 at its output if some but not all inputs are 1
- D.It produces a 1 at its output if all inputs are 0
WhyAn OR gate produces a 1 at its output if any input is 1. An OR gate outputs a 1 if any one or more of its inputs is a 1, requiring only a single true input to make the output true, answer A. It doesn't output 0 when all inputs are 1 (that combination actually gives a 1 output), doesn't output 0 for a mixed set of inputs, and doesn't output 1 only when all inputs are 0, that's closer to how a NOR gate behaves.
