Which of the following parameters does a spectrum analyzer display on the vertical and horizontal axes?
- A.Signal amplitude and time
- B.Signal amplitude and frequency (correct answer)
- C.SWR and frequency
- D.SWR and time
WhyA spectrum analyzer displays signal amplitude on its vertical axis and frequency on its horizontal axis. A spectrum analyzer plots signal amplitude on its vertical axis against frequency on its horizontal axis, letting you see how a signal's energy is distributed across a range of frequencies at a glance, answer B. That's different from an oscilloscope, which plots amplitude against time, and SWR isn't what a spectrum analyzer displays at all.
