When sending CW, what does a “C” mean when added to the RST report?
- A.Chirpy or unstable signal (correct answer)
- B.Report was read from an S meter rather than estimated
- C.100 percent copy
- D.Key clicks
WhyA C added to an RST report indicates a chirpy or unstable signal. A "C" appended to an RST signal report (as in "589C") flags a chirpy or otherwise unstable-sounding signal, a note about transmitted signal quality beyond the basic readability/strength/tone scale, answer A. It doesn't indicate how the report was measured, claim 100 percent copy, or describe key clicks, those aren't what the C suffix means.
