What does the term “zero beat” mean in CW operation?
- A.Matching the speed of the transmitting station
- B.Operating split to avoid interference on frequency
- C.Sending without error
- D.Matching the transmit frequency to the frequency of a received signal (correct answer)
WhyZero beat means matching your own transmit frequency to the frequency of a signal you've received. "Zero beat" means tuning your own transmit frequency to exactly match the frequency of a signal you've received, typically so you can reply right on top of where the other station is listening, answer D. It has nothing to do with matching code speed, operating split, or sending error-free.
