Subelement G1, COMMISSION’S RULES· Group G1D · 47 CFR §97.509(b)(2)
G1D10 · §97.509(b)(2)
What is the minimum age that one must be to qualify as an accredited Volunteer Examiner?
- A.16 years
- B.18 years (correct answer)
- C.21 years
- D.There is no age limit
WhyThe minimum age to qualify as an accredited Volunteer Examiner is 18 years. §97.509(b)(2) sets 18 as the minimum age to serve as an accredited Volunteer Examiner, the same age threshold used elsewhere in the rules for taking on that kind of responsibility, answer B. There's no 16 or 21-year threshold in the actual rule, and VEs are not exempt from an age minimum entirely.
