What do the subscripts of S parameters represent?
- A.The port or ports at which measurements are made (correct answer)
- B.The relative time between measurements
- C.Relative quality of the data
- D.Frequency order of the measurements
WhyThe subscripts of an S parameter represent the port or ports at which the measurement was made. The subscripts on an S parameter identify which port or ports the measurement was taken at and between, for example S21 meaning output measured at port 2 relative to input applied at port 1, answer A. They don't indicate timing between measurements, a subjective data-quality rating, or a frequency ordering, those aren't what the subscript notation conveys.
