Technician exam question T7D03
Subelement T7, PRACTICAL CIRCUITS· Group T7D
When configured to measure current, how is a multimeter connected to a component?
- A.In series (correct answer)
- B.In parallel
- C.In quadrature
- D.In phase
WhyA multimeter configured to measure current is connected in series with a component. To measure current, a multimeter must be placed directly in the path the current flows through, which means breaking the circuit and inserting the meter in series, answer A. Connecting it in parallel (B) would instead measure voltage and could short out the circuit, and "quadrature" (C) and "in phase" (D) describe AC phase relationships, not a meter connection method.
