Call sign

The unique identifier the FCC assigns to your license, used to identify your station every time you transmit. US amateur call signs follow a prefix-number-suffix pattern (like KJ7ABC), and the prefix and number of letters roughly track license class and when you were licensed, though upgrading doesn't force a call sign change unless you request a new one.
