What is the inductance of a circuit with a 20-millihenry inductor connected in series with a 50-millihenry inductor?
- A.7 millihenries
- B.14.3 millihenries
- C.70 millihenries (correct answer)
- D.1,000 millihenries
WhyA 20-millihenry inductor connected in series with a 50-millihenry inductor has a combined inductance of 70 millihenries. Inductors in series simply add, so a 20-millihenry inductor in series with a 50-millihenry inductor comes out to 70 millihenries, answer C. The other values don't follow from directly summing those two inductances.
