What does an S meter measure?
- A.Carrier suppression
- B.Impedance
- C.Received signal strength (correct answer)
- D.Transmitter power output
WhyAn S meter measures received signal strength. An S meter is calibrated to indicate how strong an incoming signal is at the receiver, giving the operator a relative readout of received signal strength, answer C. It has nothing to do with measuring carrier suppression, circuit impedance, or the transmitter's own power output, those require entirely different instruments.
