What is the frequency response of a T-network with series capacitors and a shunt inductor?
- A.Low-pass
- B.High-pass (correct answer)
- C.Band-pass
- D.Notch
WhyA T-network with series capacitors and a shunt inductor has a high-pass frequency response. A T-network built with series capacitors and a shunt inductor has a high-pass frequency response, since capacitors pass higher frequencies more readily in the series path while the shunt inductor increasingly shorts out lower frequencies to ground, answer B. That combination doesn't produce a low-pass, band-pass, or notch response, those require different component arrangements.
