Extra exam question E1E07
Subelement E1, COMMISSION RULES· Group E1E · 47 CFR §97.509, 97.511
What should a VE do if a candidate fails to comply with the examiner’s instructions during an amateur operator license examination?
- A.Warn the candidate that continued failure to comply will result in termination of the examination
- B.Immediately terminate the candidate’s examination (correct answer)
- C.Allow the candidate to complete the examination, but invalidate the results
- D.Immediately terminate everyone’s examination and close the session
WhyA VE must immediately terminate a candidate's examination if that candidate fails to comply with the examiner's instructions. §§97.509 and 97.511 direct a VE to immediately terminate a candidate's examination if that candidate fails to comply with the examiner's instructions, rather than issuing a warning first or letting the exam continue to an invalidated result, answer B. A single candidate's noncompliance also doesn't require shutting down the entire session for every other examinee present.
